Team and roles
Invite your team as owners, editors or viewers. Viewers see everything, change nothing, and are always free.
Needlr works best when the whole product team sees the same verdicts. Everyone you invite joins as an owner, an editor, or a viewer.
Everyone on your team can have their own login. Each person gets a role that says what they're allowed to do: Owner, Editor or Viewer.
Think of a shared kitchen
In a restaurant, the owner pays the rent and decides who works there. The cooks make the food. The guests can see the menu and taste everything, but they don't touch the stove.
In Needlr, owners run the account, editors make the changes, and viewers see all the results without changing anything.
Who can do what
- Owner
- Everything an editor can do, plus paying for Needlr: turning pay as you go on or off, and its cap. Only an owner can make someone else an owner, or change or remove an owner.
- Editor
- Does the work: connects Tag Manager and Google Analytics, creates KPIs, starts and stops impact checks, ships winners, connects coding agents, and invites people as editors or viewers. Every account can have as many editors as it needs.
- Viewer
- Sees every project, impact check, verdict and the Timeline. Can't change anything. Viewers are free and unlimited on every plan.
Editors and viewers are unlimited on every account (plans).
How to invite someone
- 1Open Team in the menu on the left, and press Invite someone. Owners and editors see this button.
- 2Type their email under Their email.
- 3Under They join as, pick Editor (sets up and changes checks) or Viewer (sees results, changes nothing).
- 4Press Create invite link. Needlr emails them the invite, and shows you the link too, so you can send it yourself.
- 5They open the link and join: new people choose a password, and people who already have a Needlr account sign in with the invited email. The link works once, for 72 hours.
Invites that haven't been used yet are listed under Pending invites. Press Revoke to cancel one, or Remove to clear one that expired.
Change a role, or remove someone
- Next to each person, pick a new role from the list. You can't give anyone a role higher than your own.
- Press Remove to take someone off the team, or Leave next to your own name. They lose access right away. Their impact checks and results stay.
- Editors can't change or remove an owner. And the last owner can't be removed or made an editor, so the account always has one.
Common mistakes
- Inviting everyone as an editor. Editors can change and stop impact checks. People who only read results should be viewers.
- Waiting too long to use the link. It expires after 72 hours. Ask for a new one if it did.
- Having just one owner. If that person leaves the company, nobody can change the plan. Make a second owner.
What the video says
Needlr works best when the whole product team sees the same verdicts. Everyone you invite joins as an owner, an editor, or a viewer.
Owners run the account. They pick the plan and pay for it. Only an owner can make someone else an owner, and the last owner always stays.
Editors do the work. They connect Tag Manager, create KPIs, start and stop impact checks, ship winners, and invite teammates. Every account can have as many as it needs.
Viewers see every impact check, every verdict and the whole timeline, and change nothing. They're free on every plan, so bring in your leadership team.
Press Invite someone, type their email, and pick editor or viewer. They get a link by email that works once, for 72 hours, and you get a copy too.
Give edit rights to the people who ship. Give visibility to everyone who asks the same question every week: did it work, and what do we do next?
