0:00 / 1:09

Needlr is free, for good, with no card. Every account gets every kind of impact check, unlimited projects and teammates, Slack alerts, and results kept forever.

Needlr has one plan, and it's free for good. You don't need a card. Every account gets everything Needlr does. The only thing that's counted is measured visitors, and the first 25,000 every month are free.

Think of free minutes on a phone

Some phone plans give you a lot of free minutes every month. Most months, that's plenty. If you need more, you pay a little for each extra minute, and you can set a limit so the bill never surprises you.

Needlr works the same way. Measured visitors are the minutes. Pay as you go is paying for the extra ones, and you set the limit.

What every account gets

  • 25,000 measured visitors a month, free.
  • Every kind of impact check: split tests, before vs after, and adoption.
  • Unlimited projects, unlimited editors and unlimited viewers (roles).
  • Up to 100 impact checks measuring at once in each project.
  • Results kept forever (more).
  • Past releases up to 13 months back (395 days) (more).
  • Slack alerts and email alerts (more).
  • Shared result pages. On Free they carry a small Measured with Needlr badge (more).

The words, explained

Measured visitors
People who entered a running split test, counted once per site per calendar month (UTC). Before vs after and adoption impact checks, and winners you shipped to everyone, never count. The count starts again on the 1st of each month.
Checks measuring
Impact checks that are still collecting data. Each one frees its place the moment it gets a verdict, even before you stop it. Winners you shipped never take a place.
Results kept
How long an impact check's numbers stay open after its verdict: forever.
Releases back
How far back you can measure a past release: 13 months.

What happens at 25,000

  • Nothing stops and nothing is deleted. Impact checks that are running keep measuring until their verdict.
  • New split tests wait for the 1st of next month, or until you turn on pay as you go.
  • Before vs after and adoption impact checks can still start. They don't use measured visitors.
  • You get an email when you've used 80%, and another at 25,000 (emails).
  • Nothing is ever charged unless you turn on pay as you go.

Need more measured visitors?

Turn on pay as you go. You pay only for the measured visitors above 25,000, and less for each one as you grow. You set a monthly cap, and Needlr never charges above it. For now, the Plan page has a button that opens an email to us, and we turn it on.

Above 10 million measured visitors a month, or if you need invoicing and a DPA, there's an annual contract. It starts at $10,000 a year, with a lower price per visitor. Write to [email protected].

Common mistakes

  • Thinking every impact check uses visitors. Only split tests do. Before vs after and adoption impact checks are always free.
  • Worrying about a surprise bill. Nothing is charged unless you turn on pay as you go, and then never more than your cap.
  • Leaving finished impact checks running. They don't hold a place after their verdict, but ship the winner or stop them anyway, so your list stays clear.

What the video says

Needlr is free, for good, with no card. Every account gets every kind of impact check, unlimited projects and teammates, Slack alerts, and results kept forever.

Measured visitors are people who entered a running split test, counted once a month. Before vs after and adoption impact checks use none, and neither do winners you shipped.

At 25,000 in a month, nothing breaks. Running impact checks keep measuring until their verdict. New split tests wait for the 1st, or you turn on pay as you go.

Above that, pay as you go, priced like tax brackets: a dollar per thousand up to 100,000, then 25 cents, then 10 cents above a million.

So 100,000 measured visitors cost 75 dollars a month, half a million cost 175, and two million cost 400. You set a monthly cap, and Needlr never charges above it.

For now, pay as you go starts with one email from the Plan page. Above 10 million a month, an annual contract. Start free, and pay only when it pays off.
